Opis

By the early 1960s, the Marvel Universe had begun to take shape. Following the debut of the Fantastic Four in 1961, iconic characters like the Amazing Spider-Man, the Astonishing Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, the Incredible Hulk, the Invincible Iron Man, and the Mighty Thor made their entrance. However, Marvel's editor-in-chief Stan Lee realized that something was still missing from this burgeoning universe. Inspired by his own characters, Lee thought it would be exciting to unite them into a team. Thus, alongside artist Jack Kirby, he brought together Iron Man, Ant-Man, and the Wasp, Thor, and the Hulk, forming the Avengers.

What set the Avengers apart was their dynamic; unlike the familial bond of the Fantastic Four, the Avengers resembled a group of colleagues who hadn't necessarily chosen to work together. Conflicts were frequent—particularly with the Hulk—but their combined strength was necessary to face Marvel's most formidable villains, such as Loki, Kang the Conqueror, the Masters of Evil, and Immortus. The team roster was fluid: with the Hulk's departure, Captain America joined the ranks, and Ant-Man transitioned into Giant-Man. Astonishingly, former villains like Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch were transformed into heroes and joined the Avengers, as the original members stepped aside, leaving Captain America to guide the new team.
