In those days, Paris was the center of European music publishing, and it was there that many German and Austrian, as well as local French and Italian, symphonies were distributed throughout the continent. Mozart, however, composed his first Symphonies in London after he had published his first violin sonatas in Germany and France. He was eight years old when his first symphonies were played at a concert on the 15th of February 1765. To celebrate the anniversary of Mozart in 2006 'Arts' are releasing this specially priced 4CD boxed set of his early symphonies up to and including No.19 K132 performed by the internationally renowned I Solisti Veneti. These four volumes were originally recorded for Arts between 1991 and 1998. Founded in Padua in 1959 by Claudio Scimone, I Solisti Veneti has built their formidable reputation on the performance of Italian baroque music and over the years have recorded the complete works of Vivaldi, Albinono, Geminiani, Marcello, and Tartini on a whole range of international labels including CBS (Sony Classical), RCA (BMG).
